This package provides an interface to Amazon's Simple DB API.
It allows one to
- create new domains
- delete domains
- list domains
- get information about a domain
- add data items to a domain
- retrieve the value of items from a domain
- delete items from a domain
- perform SELECT queries on a domain
At present, the interface is a relatively low-level mapping from the
REST operations to R functions. The select() function provides
slightly higher-level functionality in that it turns the results in an
R data frame. Similarly, putAttributes() uploads R vector or
list objects.
But there is a significant opportunity to add higher-level
functionality and
- treat the remote tables as R data frames
- work with values other than strings
This package is related in some senses to the
RAmazonS3 package.
